Sky of Santa Fe
“…The skies and land are so enormous, and the detail so precise and exquisite that wherever you are you are isolated in a glowing world between the macro and the micro.”Ansel Adams
There is nothing quite like the open skies of New Mexico. Even though my extensive travels have taken me to some of the largest urban areas of our world, Milan, Paris, New York, I deeply savor the sight of the vast sky of Santa Fe with nothing but Earth beneath. Without buildings to intervene, the light of the Santa Fe sky bathes every little bit of the land below in colors so surreal.
Oneness with the Earth is a feeling that washes over me when I am photographing the open skies. It is a sensation so fulfilling. Attempting to capture this awareness through photography is a task I delight in. I want to create this moment I am in so others can relish in it too.
This time of year, the light coming from the skies of Santa Fe accent the land beneath preparing for colder months. As the light changes from season to season, it is beautiful knowing the cycle is in motion. The New Mexican skies portray this unlike any other place in the world.
